What
is NCBA?
A fraternal, non-profit organization, the North Carolina Bowhunters Association (NCBA) was established in 1975. Its main purpose was, and is, to unite the state's bowhunting sportsmen to help combat the anti-hunting movement, to assist the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commision and to work toward the common goal of preserving and promoting the sport of bowhunting in North Carolina.
Why
should N.C Bowhunters unite?
Special interest groups, anti-hunting organizations and some political leaders would like to reduce our bowhunting seasons or eliminate our sport all together. Remember, bowhunting is an earned privilege, not a constitutional right. A unified voice of North Carolina's bowhunters will guarantee a bright future for your sport.
What
are the goals of NCBA?
Along with preserving and promoting bowhunting, some of NCBA's goals are:
The training of bowhunters in safety, hunting techniques, woodland skills, landowner-hunter relationships and the wise use of our natural resources, the conservation of our wild game, and the preservation of their natural habitat are other objectives

What Do We Do?
(You may click on any image below to see the full sized image)
NCBA maintains the oldest reward program in North Carolina. We have paid out hundreds of rewards for poaching over the past 20 years. We also maintain a joint awards program with the N.C Wild Turkey Federation and pay out $100 on each of their rewards. *North Carolina violations can be reported at 1-800-662-7137.*
N.C.'s Only Official Bowhunting Records System
NCBA maintains the official records system for the state. Although records are kept and heads are scored at many sporting shows across the state, they are commercial shows and trophy heads are not entered into the record book. Our system, based on the Pope & Young system, is the only official big game records system in North Carolina and is open to members and non-members alike. (click here for more Records System information)
NCBA holds several hunts across the state each year. They provide a chance for hunters from different ends of the state to get together, hunt and camp together. Fellowship and sharing a common spirit are the main goals.
NCBA provides its members with a top quality magazine. Each issue contains up-to-date information on hunts, legal matters, social gatherings, anti-hunter and legislative actions. It's sprinkled with photos and stories of you and your friends. As a member you'll receive N.C. Bowhunter four times a year.
Annual Awards Banquet and
Convention
Each year you have a chance to join and make new friends at our convention and banquet. The convention is a day long gathering with vendors, outfitters and seminars from the experts. The night completes our entertainment with a dinner, awards banquet and a super big game hunt auction.
NCBA is committed to the training and education of North Carolina youth. Training and education includes safety, hunting techniques, woodland skills, landowner-hunter relationships and the wise use of our natural resources. NCBA stresses to our youth the conservation of wild game, preservation of their natural habitat as well as other objectives. NCBA recognizes male and female youth bowhunter of the year and also holds a youth raffle at the NCBA Banquet.
