Pioneering:
Dayne initiated many standard procedures and functions while serving as president of the NCBA.
Dayne was instrumental in the founding of "Guilford Bowhunters" in 1978. Guilford Bowhunters is still a very active club and the largest NCBA Local Chapter member. Many archery/bowhunting clubs across the state have patterned their clubs By-Laws, structure, activities and goals after the example set by Guilford Bowhunters.
He planned, coordinated and conducted the "First NCBA Annual Awards Banquet" in 1987. The Banquet was held at Kepleys Barn in High Point, NC. The Convention was held at Northwest Guilford High School that year.
Dayne continues to assist the NCBA and the Bowhunting community when the need arises. He actively solicits donations to the NCBA for use at auctions held at the banquet every year. And, he contributes his personal assistance as needed to help assure that the annual function will continue to be successful.
Dayne Welborn has spent his life dedicated to the furtherance of the skill, ethics and education of Bowhunting.
Signed,
Roger W. Duggins, Greensboro, NC
