Local Chapter Requirements & Guidelines
IF
a Club
has ten (10) or more bowhunting members, at least ten (10) must belong to NCBA.
IF a club has less than ten (10) members, ALL members must belong to
NCBA for the club to affiliate as a NCBA Local Chapter Club. Example: A
club has nine (9) members or less, it may affiliate as a NCBA Local
Chapter club, but all members must be NCBA members.
We
ask that all bowhunting members of clubs be NCBA members. This is NOT an
absolute requirement.
The
club's primary interest in affiliating with NCBA must be for the
preservation of bowhunting privileges in N.C.
The
club and it's members must be in full agreement with the NCBA's constitution and
bylaws.
Any
target or trophy shoots, etc. your club wishes to be involved in must be hosted
and sponsored by your club. NCBA is strictly a bowhunting organization and must
continue to project that image. NCBA will assist by publishing shoot schedules
on it’s website and in the NCBA magazine for NCBA Local Chapter Clubs. The
only shoots NCBA conducts are at commercial shows like the Dixie Deer Classic,
BassPro Shops, etc., and our annual NCBA Convention, Banquet and EXPO.
All
Local Chapters will elect or appoint a "Local Chapter Representative" to act as
a liason between the Chapter "Club" and the NCBA Executive Council, and to serve
on the "Legislative Committee." Each Local Chapter Club has "one" vote on
issues brought before the NCBA Executive Council while in “General Session”, so
it is important that someone attends these meetings to represent each local
chapter club. A "representative" of the Local Chapter clubs must be present at
NCBA Executive Council Meetings in order to exercise this voting privilege.
Members
of a "Local Chapter Club" will renew NCBA Membership together, the same month
each year. Please specify renewal month. It shall also be the chapter's
responsibility to collect and forward NCBA dues to NCBA Membership Services in a
timely manner throughout the year, as they are received, from new and renewal
members. Failure to have all club members listed on the NCBA roster will
exclude those members from receiving the NCBA magazine, insurance benefits and
“may” disqualify them from eligibility in annual NCBA awards and contests.

chapter's fundraisers and/or benefit shoots.
The
NCBA sponsors yearly hunts in various parts of North Carolina. These hunts are
free, although we accept donations to help offset expenses. One yearly
cookout or Pig-picking is also provided free to its membership at a hunt.
Individual
NCBA members are eligible to “qualify” for BCRS membership. BCRS stands for:
“Bowhunter Certificatin and Referral Service.” This service is for individual
NCBA members who have taken both Hunter Safety and IBEP courses. They must also
pass an annual “Proficiecy Test” to qualify. The cost is an additional $20 a
year. “NCBA-BCRS Members” are covered by a $2 million liability insurance policy
“anywhere” they bowhunt in N.C. They also may qualify to hunt on lands that NCBA-BCRS
have agreements with the landowners to help with population control of deer
using either depredation permits or DMAP tags. See the BCRS link on our website
for more information. Goto:

There are many other benefits to being an NCBA member.
If your Club can't agree at this time about whether or not to join forces with us as an "NCBA Local Chapter", try to convince as many individual members to join as you can to help support our efforts to preserve bowhunting in N.C.
Get involved with bowhunting and with the NCBA. We need your support and you need to get involved to enjoy the benefits of belonging to our statewide bowhunting community, as well as to become a member of the ONLY organized voice for bowhunters in North Carolina.
