Anti-Poacher Reward Program

Established by NCBA

NCBA established the "First" Anti-Poacher Reward Program in North Carolina about 30 years ago. Since then, the National Wild Turkey Federation has joined forces with us. Together, we have been paying a total of $1,000 for every "tip" that leads to a conviction of a person committing a wildlife violation.

NOTICE:  As of May 1, 2011, NCBA has discontinued it's sponsorship of this program. We will no longer honor claims filed under this program.

It is our intention to solicit sponsorship of a bill that will go before the N.C. General Assembly that will add a fine to court costs for all wildlife violators. This will fund a program to pay rewards to people who turn in wildlife violators and poachers. We feel it is only fitting and proper that the perpetrators of wildlife crimes should fund the program to pay the rewards to the people who turned them in to begin with, along with the restoration fees currently required to be paid through the court system. Serious wildlife crimes should result in higher fines, to fit the nature of the crime itself.
